REALA ACE Film Simulation not included on all vesions of C1

REALA ACE has recently been added to the newest version of Capture One. Unfortunately, I do not have the latest version of Capture One, I have version 16.3 which does provide support for the latest Fujifilm XT5 and XH2 XTrans sensors.

It appears there is no intention for Capture One to include the REALA ACE film simulation for previous versions of Capture One. So, even though my version of Capture One provides support for my XT5, I cannot use my camera to its full potential as Capture One does not include all the simulations my camera does.

Has anybody found a workaround for this (apart from upgrading)?

    I doubt there is one. To have film simulation in capture one there must be present set of preset files for each camera and each simulation. Since you have 16.3 this files for xt5 reala-ace are missing so there is no way to have this particular simulation enabled.

    Łukasz Gałecki .. if your solution is to provide files (ICC profiles?) to others from a newer version then please make sure you read your license agreement as I am sure this would violate it.

    I won’t provide anything, except confirmation it is doable in a way. Any one who can access their installation can achieve this effect. If it is properly functioning film simulation, I have no idea? I have no use of it. All necessary files are provided by capture one. It is as old bug with infinite trial that was present some versions ago, which even didn’t required to touch program itself. Don’t blame developers lazy coding on users. I’m sure devs are aware of ways to do “things” with their software which shouldn’t be possible for end user but they left it as it is. I guess that how it is when you soft lock some features but you provide same installer that contains and install all necessary files for all versions of your software.

    Sorry for the delayed reply. Thank you for offering a possible solution but it's really not worth causing any problems.

    I just think it's really poor of Capture One to only half support XT5 and XH2 users...

    I may take a look at Adobe...
