Opening within the task bar - no more choices for the session or catalog to be open

I presume that as you say "taskbar" and not "dock" you are on Windows not Mac. I can confirm that on a Mac I still get the expected behaviour when I long press the icon in the dock, but I don't have a Windows machine I can try it on. So I wonder whether it is something that has changed in Windows rather than something that has changed in Capture One.

    Hi Ian,

first thank you for passing by, and yes you are right I am using windows as a platform, I forget to say it within my message.

Of course it could be a problem caused by Windows itself, but id I do consider the fact some other application are able to keep this function (able to propoe several options based on history and/or other option than just opening the application), I have a guess that is much more cause by a change of implementation at the level of C1 5I can be wrong of course as other parameters can combine of course). But if someone from the development team, or anyone working with Windows can provide some input it would be nice to read them.

    Regards.

On  a Mac, I can see a list of recent sessions/catalogs on starting Capture One in one of three ways

    • long press on the taskbar icon
    • Option-click (aka Alt-click) on the taskbar icon
    • just use the taskbar icon in the usual way then select a recent session or catalog from the list in the Library tool.

I believe the Alt-click method is meant to work in Windows too. Do any of those three methods work for you, or none of them?

    Hi Ian,

Unfortunately, none of them works except the last one, when in C1 I can access the "Open recent" under "Files" menu entry.

The right-click is (was) the way to get access to the list of the previously opened sessions/catalog.

So if the last method works, at least that proves that the most recent files list is still intact.

Is it worth removing the item from the task bar and adding it again? (I presume that's a thing you can do in Windows.)

Otherwise, hopefully someone who is a Windows user will be able to say whether it works OK for them, and clarify whether it is just you or a problem with the Windows version generally.

Yes, that for sure the recent files list is fine.

I did that already (remove / readd the item from the taskbar - nothing change ...

I also did try with some others software, for those which do have this kind of function, it is working fine, the only exception is for Adobe (But I cannot say if it was working before - I barely not using Adobe software - Maybe someone on Win can have a try).

Let's hope for someone on Win pass by ...
