Organizing Albums, Groups, Projects
I'm attempting to do some major organization on a large project, and have hit a few snags. I'm starting to wonder if I'm missing something, since these things seem so basic as to perhaps be hiding in plain sight.
It seems one is unable to duplicate albums, groups, and projects. This has been confirmed in other forums.
Using a workaround, in the form of selecting all images within an album, then creating a new album from selection. It technically works, but why wouldn't C1 have this simple capability? It's a rather mundane task, when it could be 1 click and done for a whole nested group of albums. Copying/duplicating collections, albums, etc (basically simply a virtual collection) is available in practically every app and OS I've used for the last 10 years.
Secondly, it appears that one cannot select more than one album at a time to move them between groups. More time spent doing basic housecleaning, less time working on important things.
I beseech those who may be listening to implement these basic and time saving features.

Hi, Whit Preston
This sounds like something that needs to be a feature request. Head over to https://captureone.ideas.aha.io/ to be able to submit a request.

Whit Preston .. can you describe in more detail why you would do this? What might you duplicate a project?group? album? What is the purpose of the "copy"? I am thinking this could be done in AppleScript on macOS but that won't help Windows users.
But before I embark on any effort I want to understand why one would do it and how often? Do you want the "structure", or do you also want all the images?
You can create session and catalog templates that include different user collection structures.

I'm glad you asked. We create catalogs for each large shoot, a recent example being one for a week-long shoot, with about 30 different spaces photographed. Each space has multiple images within it. I send some of these images out to retouchers, some are done in-house. In LR, it's very easy to make collections/albums of each space (and subspace, if needed), I spend some time making these albums, nested within a collection set/group, populate them with the images I need from each space and all relevant brackets, lighting variations, etc. I can then nearly instantly duplicate that ENTIRE group/collection set, which I can then use for other purposes, such reorganizing the sets in the duplicate to correspond to finished image, or images sent to retouch, or choices made by creatives, etc. Currently, the number of clicks and amount of time to do something similar in C1 is so far and away greater, it becomes an exercise in frustration. Moving albums one at a time within a group feels tedious. Not being able to duplicate albums and groups is beyond tedious, instead helplessly having to manually re-create an entire nested album tree when one could and should be able duplicate it in one click.
