Leica Q3 DNG and JPEG Profile and crop
Good evening, with Leica q3 I shot with black and white setting. During the import phase I see both the dng and the jpeg in black and white (same thing for the crop: I see the cutout set in camera) but just imported into the catalog, the dng returns in color and I lose the crop. Why? I would like to keep the black and white with the settings as acquired in the room. Thank you

When you import, the DNG is displayed in the import dialog box using the embedded JPG from the camera, and if you had the camera set to black and white, then that will be black and white. And if you set an in-camera crop, it will display that too. Nevertheless, a DNG is a kind of raw file, so when the actual DNG is displayed you should see what the camera sensor actually saw and recorded, which was of course in colour, and the whole image that the camera saw, not a cropped version.
For some makes of camera, Capture One is able to use inbuilt information from the file to use a simulation of the styles used in camera, so for instance black-and-white, or perhaps a film simulation of some sort. In particular it can do this with quite a few of the Fuji models. I'm not familiar with the Leica cameras, so I don't know whether it can do this for them. You could look at the Curve options in the Base Characteristics tool. For a Fuji X-T3 you get a list like this.
But what it can do with Fujis is the exception. Whether you can see a similar list for your Leica I don't know. You could check. If similar options are not available, then it would probably require collaboration between Leica and Capture One to make it possible, and I don't know whether the DNG files from the Leica even embed the necessary information to do that.
For most makes of camera, it doesn't work like that. On my Nikon Z8, for instance, if I set an in-camera "Picture Control" as Nikon calls them to one of the two Monochrome options, the viewfinder displays in black and white, the import dialog in Capture One displays in black and white, but still the imported raw file is rendered in colour, and there is no choice of Curve that can pick up on the Picture Control used in camera.

I was too used to Fuji. So you can confirm that it's not the same with Leica. Thank you for the kind reply
