What model of SSD? It could be slowing things down. USB3 does not equate to fast if the entire pipeline isn't equally fast. Is the cable good? Sometimes cables create issues too. Also check if you have any other tools running like a cloud drive service that is competing with Capture One to read the drive to back it up.

SanDisk Ultra GO Dual Drive USB 3.1 & USB Type-C OTG Flash HD.  Clean rebooted system, without any backup services running.

Ultimately, the import only displays 16 of 3,300 images...

I see you have exclude duplicates turned on. That can be a terrible slower-downer.

Ian Wilson is right .. exclude duplicates really slows things down. also if you have metadata syncing turned on that will really slow things down.

Same results when `excluded duplicates` is not checked... :(

Could this be because the device is flash, vs SSD or HDD?

What happens if you select only the image files to import and do not include folder 2023 nor archived items?

As of today, I see no sign that Mac OS 15 is considered ok to use with Capture One, current version (s), but that may not be a problem given the experiences of some users.

Im assuming you can easily copy those image files onto the drive of your Mac and then into Capture One, in case you need to get going sooner rather than later.

Flashdrives are usually very slow, I looked at your model and read people complaining they only got 2mb/sec....

You can test this, as earlier mentioned, by copying the files directly to your computer(without using C1).

I would advise using a real SSD harddrive.
