using the Canon R6 Mark II. I am facing issues with the Capture One tethering cable, such as disconnections and connection delays.
Hello, I am a photographer currently using an Apple Silicon M1 iMac and M1 MacBook Pro.
I have subscribed to Capture One from version 23 to the latest version, but I've been experiencing peculiar connection delays when using the tethering cable. It takes almost 30 seconds for the connection to establish, and sometimes, when I unplug and reconnect the cable, it can take over a minute to connect. Even when Capture One does connect, the exposure information doesn't display correctly. Moreover, when I press the shutter to take a photo, for instance, if I take three shots, only one or two of them actually register.
However, I also own a 2015 mid Intel MacBook Pro, and when I tested the tethering and shooting with it, everything worked perfectly. The connection was stable, there were no interruptions, and all shots came through without any issues, even though it was slightly slower.
Additionally, I have no problems connecting and capturing images through the 'EOS Utility.' I can also charge my camera directly through the Type-C port on the body without any issues. Therefore, I believe that both the USB Type-C port on my camera and the cable are functioning well.
Not only I, but also other photographers I know who use the Canon R series are experiencing the same problem.
I can't understand why the Intel MacBook works without any problems while I’m experiencing these issues on the Apple Silicon models. It seems that improvements are necessary, and I hope for a quick update to address these concerns.
