Sidecar (XMP) files strip Time zone information
Capture One 23 Pro
C1 16.2.5.9 (4d40204)
macOS: 14.6 (23G80)
I have a RAW file with the following date information
Date/Time Original : 2024:10:20 12:03:00
Create Date : 2024:10:20 12:03:00
Offset Time : +09:00
Offset Time Original : +09:00
Offset Time Digitized : +09:00
Create Date : 2024:10:20 12:03:00+09:00
Date/Time Original : 2024:10:20 12:03:00+09:00
Modify Date : 2024:10:20 12:03:00+09:00
When I write the XMP file with LR it will set the "Date/Time Original" correct
Modify Date : 2024:10:20 12:03:00+09:00
Create Date : 2024:10:20 12:03:00+09:00
Metadata Date : 2024:10:23 22:34:52+09:00
Date/Time Original : 2024:10:20 12:03:00+09:00
Date Created : 2024:10:20 12:03:00+09:00
But when I use C1 to change something and let C1 write it, it changes the timezone to "Z" (zulu)
Modify Date : 2024:10:20 12:03:00+09:00
Create Date : 2024:10:20 12:03:00+09:00
Metadata Date : 2024:10:23 22:34:52+09:00
Date/Time Original : 2024:10:20 12:03:00Z
Date Created : 2024:10:20 12:03:00+09:00
Exports will now all set the time to "GMT" and not to the correct +09:00 time zone
This problem was introduced somewhere after 2023/11/26 as these are the last files that got exported correctly
It would be nice to see what time zone the Date is actually in and that time zones do not get removed when XMP data is written
