Thank you for screwing your customers 16.4 clients

I'm very disappointed that you released 16.4 with minor improvements only to launch 16.5 with significant improvements 3 months later. For clients that don't like subscriptions you just screwed us. You should have waited and given us the improvements from both. After spending ~$300 in July I can't afford to be spending more 3 months later. 

I'll use CaptureOne until it becomes unusable, but I no longer trust you.

Very disappointing!

  Ira Weiss - your choice, of course. But it has been made clear for some time now that the deal with perpetual licences is that you get the features the app has at that time (plus minor bug fix updates), and if you choose to go for a perpetual licence you run the risk of missing out on later new features.

  I won't be switching to your subscription systems. I will use my perpetual license 16.2 until DXO Labs brings us a more user-friendly masking system. Unless you decide to issue a proper perpetual version. Very disappointed by your marketing evolution.

  Ian, I think Ira has a valid point. Charging a full upgrade price for feature upgrades issued incrementally over short intervals is not cost effective and makes perpetual licenses less attractive. However, one can, as you have pointed out, keep using the perpetual license and not upgrade it, but there is another problem caused by software and operating systems being updated without regard to each other at less than annual intervals. Capture One does not make an effort to maintain compatibility with OS updates/upgrades for even recent but not current versions, nor does it provide information about compatibility of these versions with the OS even for the immediately previous Capture One version. 

  I am using version 16.3.8 and would like to upgrade to Sequoia, but I can't find any information about using the two of these together either from Capture One or on the forum. It is as if the answer was a big secret. My only choice is to test it on a non-production system.

  Even 16.5 feels half baked. The new features (Match look, People Masking) don't work reliably for me.
