This is currently happening to me while on an important shoot. So embarrassing. Restarting C1 temporarily fixes it but it inevitably happens again.

I have had this happen as well on an M3 Pro MBP using 16.4 (I think it was before the upgrade - might have been 16.5). I just assumed I did something wrong and rebooted which fixed it. It was quite annoying.

Next time it happens I’ll pay more attention and see if there is something to report.

    I have the same issue ... :(

Had the same issue, don't really know why. I've also realized it happens when I change or add a new keyboard shortcut from the menu.

Hey everyone, a new version of the app was released today. However, I didn’t notice this specific bug in the list of fixes. If you’re still experiencing the same issue in Capture One 16.5.1, please report it to our support team. They’ll keep you informed about the progress.

I can confirm this does happen after the update.  Additionally, I have a reproduction that works 100% of the time for me.

    1. Open an existing session in C1

    2. Select an image in the browser

    3. Hit the up and down arrow to confirm that they move between images

    4. Edit -> Keyboard Shortcuts -> Edit Keyboard Shortcuts

    5. Using the mouse set the input focus the Search box

    6. Type "min" (I don't think the word actually matters, I'm just doing what I did)

    7. Leaving the dialog open, use the cursor to click on an image in the browser

    8. Hit the up and down arrows and notice that the window is now resizing rather than moving through the browser

    9. Notice that when you hit the arrow key that the Window menu flashes indicating that a shortcut from that menu was used. When I look at my Window -> Move and Resize menu none of the options have a keyboard short assigned to them.

    10. Notice in the Edit Shortcut Keys dialog that the Move and Resize shortcuts do not have a mapping applied to them. Applying a mapping to them does not change the behavior of the left and right arrows (still misbehaving) and it does not seem like the applied shortcut is respected either.

This is on a MBP running Sequoia 15.0.1 with C1 16.5.1.14

Robert Horvick This is a user-to-user forum, so if you haven’t already, it would be incredibly helpful if you could share this with our support team by clicking the Request Support button in the header.

Can confirm this problem occurs after adding keyboard shortcuts.

Same here, if you press Option (Mac) at the same time the arrow keys work normally

Confirmed, Build 16.5.1.14 (d8813af) on macOS 15.1.1... just remapped a key for the first time since i started using 16.5.1.14, and this is definitely happening. Huge show stopper... this app is completely unusable if keyboard mappings randomly change. What's the quickest way to fix this issue?

btw the way, the link that was shared above (https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/requests/255725) states "The page you were looking for doesn't exist", super annoying that these happen as often as they do on C1's support page.

I understand you use the options (Mac) key with the cursor and apparently the window acts as it should…… Hope C1 sort this soon!

I suspect the issue page linked is only visible to me as I opened the issue. I can see where making them private would be good given that people attach logs and potentially photos or other sensitive information to the tickets. I can confirm the ticket does exist.

Hey everyone, Robert is right; support requests are private.

However, if you want to reference a specific request, you can submit a new request by clicking the Request Support button in the header. Simply mention the request number 255725.

Unrelated to the main issue here, but Denis Huk it would be so much better for everyone if this support platform couldn't get scraped by robots (unsure of your robots.txt could be updated to help with this?) that come up with search results which link to a page that cannot be viewed. This was single handedly my biggest frustration for the first several months of learning Capture One.

As for the problem at hand... i've been able to stumble upon it several times now, simply be opening up the keyboard shortcuts menu... didn't even need to make any setting changes. It seems that an app Quit then re-opening a Session seems to resolve this temporarily.. but this is incredibly annoying. Any chance there's a timeline on the fix for this bug?

    I had this too yesterday.

Scott Baxter The inaccessible forum pages (not support requests) that turn up in search results probably belong to older sections of the forum that have been taken offline.

It is happening on my new Macbook Pro M4 Max, running Sequoia 15.1.1 and C1 16.5.1.14.  Restarting C1 is the only fix to the issue I've found. Very annoying

Happening on my Macbook Pro M1.  Started after I edited shortcut keys.

Started after I edited shortcut keys.

That must be what triggered it here too.

    Hello all,

    same problem here.

Looks like C1 messes up with the Shortcuts set by Apple.

    Apples command-list:

    Fn-Control-Arrow-left - Window left

    Fn-Control-Arrow-right - Window right

    Fn-Control-Arrow-up - Window up

    Fn-Control-Arrow-down - Window down

The liste above works in all programs except C1, after using custom shortcuts...

Maybe the "Fn-Control" is lost after editing the shortcuts somehow..

Atm im searching for ways to either deactivate the placement of the window at all or editing the shortcuts of C1 therefore...

    *** POSSIBLE CAUSE FOUND ***

The file OwnShortcuts.plist couldn't be open by xCode. 2 Errors in lines regarding "delete file" and "delete file from disk".

Removing the shortcuts in C1 fixed the file to be opened correctly. My own shortcuts are now working fine until I open the shortcut menu.

Can someone try on this and check as well?

Sebastian Zell could you explain a bit more? Where is OwnShortcuts.plist located? It's not in ~/Library/Application Support/Capture One. I'd like to check on this, but i don't know where to look.

Can that file be viewed with `defaults read OwnShortcuts.plist`? I'm not sure if Xcode would even be necessary.

Scott Baxter OwnShortcuts.plist is meant to be your Shortcuts savefile. Located in /Users/user/Library/Application Support/Capture One/KeyboardShortcuts.

If you want to open the file properly Xcode would be best, TextEdit doesn't shows it quite right.

To change the what I guess is the "broken" shortcut you can go via C1s Shortcut Settings...

Looks like the bug has been fixed in release 16.5.2.

    Fixed on my Mac.

Also seems fixed on mine. I'll add a comment on the ticket I created.

This just happend to me today for the first time. I was changing shortcuts for the first time as well. I'm using Capture One 21 build 14.4.1.16. Restarting C1 helped but it's really annoying.

Just happened to me on set with M1 chip with the new OS 15.1.1. First time it’s happened to me. I tried everything within short cuts to change it with no joy. Restating did work but looks bad. Using Cap 16.5.1.14
