Live View on iPad
I’ve been following the support forum on the topic of Live View on iPad.
For some context, I would like to describe my workflow and the challenges I face.
I’m a professional advertising photographer who shoots Homeware in studio.
We build bedroom, lounge and kitchen sets in the studio.
I first lock off my Sony camera on a tripod for the shot.
I then connect my iPad to my camera via the camera Wifi to use the Sony compatible app Camrote.
This app on the iPad allows the stylist to move freely through the set and make adjustments to the product with live view interaction.
We are able to capture shots from the iPad and review from the iPad, similar to Capture Pilot but with the crucial option of also having a Live View functionality.
Once we are happy with the shot, I then disconnect the Wifi connection to the iPad and camera.
I then change the settings on my camera to allow tethering.
I then connect my camera to my laptop via a tethering cable.
And now I’m ready to capture the shot to tether to my laptop.
This is extremely time consuming, tedious and frustrating and I have to do this process over and over again with every shot.
If I could just have live view functionality on Capture pilot my prayers would be answered!
Looking at support forum on the topic of Live View on iPad, most of the comments were from over a year ago yet no Live View available yet?
Can you shed some light on when Live View is expected be operational?
I appreciate any feedback you can give me.
