    There is no need to get into the Originals folder. If you have by mistake used "Copy into catalog" so that the images are in the "In Catalog" section of the Library, you can drag and drop them to some other folder in your catalog. Do it in the Capture One Library tool, not in MacOS Finder or Windows File Explorer. You are right, you can't use the Find feature if they are In Catalog. 

    It sounds to me as though you have two copies of every photograph - the one that was copied into the catalog and the one that is on the external drive. If you delete the ones from the originals folder, then yesterday they will appear as offline. The ones you need to delete are the ones on the external drive, and then drag the imported ones out of the In Catalog section to the hard drive. 

    It would be prudent to make sure you have the contents of the external drive backed up before you do this, in case you make a mistake. And it would bet wise to practise this with a small handful of images before doing them all.
