Downloading the wrong software

Capture One only has one installer. The license key determines what is unlocked. Perhaps the trial license key unlocks the Studio edition. When you purchase a new license key you will choose what edition to purchase. That license key will determine what features you see. Going from Studio to Pro won't affect your sessions or catalogs. I tested the Studio edition and later went to the Pro edition and it did not affect my catalogs or sessions.

A few days after installing the trial version of Capture One - I paid for Capture One Pro. This is the version I have been using for years. The version I installed had some kind of license key written on it, and the last group of digits was not visible (the asterisks were printed). This license key has nothing to do with either my old license or my new license. I tried to write a new license to resolve my concerns about it. However, I cannot resolve it, or rather the software does not allow it. I have looked through a bunch of manuals, tips, and the like, but nowhere does it say anything about it. If this is some kind of security "trick" - the effect is completely the opposite. While we users have to spend days looking for a solution, asking questions - the security risk increases.
I would like to thank moderator Walter Rowe for the quick and accurate answer to my first question.

When you paid for Pro, you should have had an email with your licence key for the paid version in it.

If you can't find that, log on to your account on the Capture One website, and go for the button that says Plans and Services Management. You should be able to see your linen key there.

Once you have your licence key open Capture One - presumably it will open the trial version. Go to License... on the Capture One menu (on a Mac - I'm not sure which menu it's on for Windows, but no doubt you can find it). Choose the deactivate option, close Capture One, open it again and enter your purchased licence code when prompted.

It seemed to me that Mr. Ian Wison's solution was the right way. It sounds logical and most similar to the right solutions. However, the problem appeared again. After I did everything according to Mr. Wison's procedure - the software is not deactivated. My license cannot be entered. I received it by email.
It seems to me that someone from support and I will have to do the job together. I think something went wrong and we will have to clean it up together.
