Help with Sessions problem
Using C1 22Pro. Got new desktop and installed C1 -- OK. Using second copy on laptop. Recent raw files in multiple folders are on an external drive that I move between the folders. On laptop all edits show up fine. Carry the same drive to new desktop and recent edits (past month) do not show (same drive same folders). When I installed C1 on new desktop I opened a Session there that is on an internal drive in the desktop and was in place with the older computer. Old files in that Session show edits fine. But newest files edits do not show. I can take a single folder of raw files in which all edits show in the laptop and copy that folder to the internal drive in the desktop that contains the same raw files and recent edits don't show in the C1 version on the desktop.

Joe Angert - in a session (different from a catalog) edits are held in subfolders under the folder where the images are. For instance the Selects folder here contains image files
and a Settings subfolder contains small sidecar files (.cos for most settings and .comask for layer masks) with the edits in them.
This should mean that Capture one (if you are working in a session) will always see the edits, even if you look at those images from within a different session from the one they were done in.
But this is not the way that Catalogs work. Are you sure that you are dealing with sessions not catalogs?

Thanks. I understand the session edit location -- desktop version just wasn't reading the most recent edits. I solved the problem. The version of C1 installed on the laptop (and old desktop) was 15.3 but when I set up this new desktop I inadvertently installed 15.2 and they are session version incompatible. That would've gotten caught and solved when I tried to do an update check on the newly installed desktop, but I became unfortunately at that point a victim of the new "customer disloyalty program." Got it fixed.

Pleased that you got it fixed! I'm sorry, incompatible versions didn't occur to me as a possible reason.

It may help in case you need to work with photos edited in higher version. If you copy settings from subfolder with higher version to lower version ( delete files inside to avoid any problems) Capture One will see all compatible edits.
