    Supported cameras are listed here.

    https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002718118-Camera-Models-and-RAW-Files-Supported-by-Capture-One#h_190badd1-0bbf-443f-b366-b86227c6e5ce

Support for the D850 was introduced in Capture One 10.2.0 and support for the D600 was introduced in Capture One 7.2.4. So both should be OK with Capture One 12. (However it also appears from the list that although tethering is supported for these cameras, wireless tethering is not.)

I am not sure what you mean by Capture One 12A, though.

I've never understood whether it is necessary to register a camera. I registered one of mine by mistake once, and apart from that I haven't registered others.

That actually isn't a thing in most recent versions anyway, I think.

There would be no harm in registering a camera.

When you say it does not find the cameras, do you meant that it doesn't see them when tethering? Do you need to change a setting in the camera, perhaps? Or do you perhaps need to check Nikon in the Preferences tab for Capture? (See screenshot - but as I am running a different version from you, the details of this tab may be slightly different.)

Does it handle files from these cameras OK if you import them from a memory card?

I ask you to help me, I have been trying to solve this problem for 2 days. or I ask for a tip on how I can still extend my license.
This is what this field looks like for me.
    Greetings Peter

It looks as though you have the free version of Capture One supplied to purchasers of Phase One cameras. It doesn't work with other brands.
