It could be that when you attempt to restore from a backup, the location of the file is not correct and you may need to correct this. If not you can manually replace the cocatalogdb (the database) file with the one from the backup.

Make a copy of your catalog. Using that copy, replace the cocatalogdb file with the copy of the cocatalogdb in the backup. You probably will not have to replace the Adjustments folder with the one in the backup. This should give you a working catalog.

Alternatively, you can open any cocatalogdb backup file as a catalog, but you will have to regenerate the previews.

Thank you very much! It's good, I can do it manually! So the backups from the dates before are not really necessary/useful? I thought they might add on to each other, so that you need all of them to make it work again.

That's correct. Each backup is complete in itself.

However, if your catalog has become corrupted and has developed problems of some kind, there is the danger that the most recent backup is taken from a version of the catalog database that was already developing a problem. So it is prudent to retain a few recent backups so that you can definitely go back to one that is problem-free. But there is no need to keep a large number of the backups.
