Cannot reconnect files

Hi there, I recently opened an older catalogue, with referenced image files on an external SSD. I had to use the ‘locate’ function to direct the library because I’m working on a new computer and the drive letters have changed. After locating to the correct drive I receive a green icon next to the drive indicating that it’s correctly connected. When checking all the albums I can see all the files ‘found’ but CO is not displaying the images - instead I’m told the link is broken or the files are corrupted. However if I select an individual image and ‘locate original’ then this works fine and the image is displayed. So there is no corruption, the links are there/working and all the needle types can be displayed. So why is CO not making the connection to all the files in all the albums and folders?? I have tried using the ‘locate’ function from all top levels (eg. From the drive name, from the top level folder, and from sub folders), and in all cases it appears that all the files are located/found, but are not displayed. Can anyone please help?? I’m super distressed that what should be a simple process is proving to be not working at all. I have about 20 separate catalogs to go through with the need to ‘locate’ the drives or folders - so any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Mark

    Try doing Locate on the top level folders of the drives, not the drives themselves.

    So other than drive letter nothing else has changed? Same folder structure .. just moved a disk from old computer A to new computer B?

    Same version of Capture One on both computers? Same version of Windows?

    I have updated the catalogue and changed OS version. But the folder structure should be the same

    I cannot tell from your description if you  the new location (a file (s) in the new location )within Capture One. That is did  you first create an empty folder (A) in your new external drive? Did you then open up one of the catalogs in old drive with Capture One and then within Capture One choose the New drive and the folder (A). Then you can open the (soon to be) old drive and folder containing the original photo files , add and then just paste the folder into the new drive folder A. The green dot while appear on the new drive which now contains the moved files.  The catalog now "knows" where the referenced files are located. Hope this is relevant to your problem.

    Forgot to include pressing + to add the new drive and folder while in Capture One catalog that references  with the soon to be vacated old drive.
