Cropping methods and difficulties
When cropping images in which I want an equal amount of space on both sides of an object, I find that it often takes a while to get it right.
As it is, I use the Grid tool, but it requires a lot of increasing and decreasing the number of lines to make them align with the lines in the image I'm cropping, and when the crop is adjusted in one side of the image to bring the grid lines into alignment with the lines in this side of the image, the grid moves out of alignment in the other side of the image, and the number of lines has to be changed again to bring the grid back into alignment in this side too – and so forth.
Unfortunately the guides aren't much use in this regard as it is, but with an option to mirror two guides (for instance by holding down an option key) they could become very useful. I've made a request for such an option here: https://captureone.ideas.aha.io/ideas/FR-I-1904
I imagine that the Guide Presets tool would make this a lot easier too, but then you need a Capture One Studio subscription, and paying 31,67 euro extra a month for this tool alone (if it's the only part of Capture One Studio you're interested in) seems out of proportion.
What do other users do? Any suggestions or workarounds?

If you're only using a few aspect ratios, the overlay tool might help. I set mine up a while ago so can't remember exactly what I did, but the overlays are png files with transparent backgrounds. I think I created them in Affinity Photo. Can change the size and position of the overlay but not the aspect ratio. Once I have the overlay positioned and sized how I like I just crop to that.

Thanks for the suggestion. I hadn't thought of this. I will see how it works.
