Setting Canon AF point in Live View & automate C1 capture to Lightroom
C1 noob, and long-time reluctant Canon EOS Utility shooter here hoping there’s a better way. I’m running the trial of C1, tethered, and the Canon R is out of reach overhead. Live View somehow looks better than it does in EOS Utility, but I can’t figure out how to set the AF point in C1.
In EOS Utility, you just drag the box to a target and hover over the shutter button to trigger AF. The Focus Meter Tool (a Cursor Tool) is similar, but allows you to manually focus on a point, not target a point for AF.
What am I missing? I suppose it’s possible Canon simply does not surface an AF point API as a way to keep us using EOS Utility. Is that what it is? Would really love to for our workflow not to be hamstrung by Canon software.
Oh, and is anyone using C1 Live Mode to shoot, but auto-exporting/importing the images to Lightroom? Would love to hear all about it if you are.
