Suddenly C1 takes forever to open
Is it that my catalog is bigger now? I just started using this in November of '24 on an M3 Pro MB Pro with ridiculous specs and it used to open in a few seconds. Overnight it's now taking upwards of 30 seconds before the "tip" comes up. I use sessions and work off of an SSD, version 16.5 for Phase One.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks for the response Walter. The number of images varies but generally no more than 20 60mb .IIQ files. Some the stitched photos can be more than 1gb however but I don't generally have more than 2-3 per session. The issue appears to be random. I tried transferring a complete session file of about 4gb to the internal ssd which took about 4 seconds so seems the external ssd is probably fine. It took about 1/2 the time to open, 12 seconds. Sometimes it takes in excess of 30 seconds for that session on the external ssd and sometimes C1 just fails to open at all.
There is essentially zero lag in adjustments, AI masking, or stitching. The same as it's always been.
Maybe I should just be happy if it opens at all? It's just such a drastic change for no apparent reason.

I would suggest opening up the application.log file and looking at the log entries associated with startup to see if Capture One is finding errors on anything. I once noticed a bunch of errors associated with corrupted export recipes that were slowing my startup down and causing me problems when editing export recipes.

Also look in the Batch Queue folder .. it accumulates files without ever cleaning them up. It is in your home folder's Library > Application Support > Capture One folder.

Mark Telep Hello. I created a support ticket on your behalf so please let's continue there to find out why this is happening and provide us also with the required log files or screen recording that we might need.

Hello all,
Thank you for your suggestions! Interestingly though... there is no folder labeled "Capture One" under Library > Application support. Perhaps that's a problem in itself. Then after Googling around a bit and searching my HD, I'm still unable to locate any capture.log files for C1. Unfortunately, digging around the bowels of a brand new computer is just no fun for me. It just needs to work.
Thankfully the problem resolved itself after updating the operating system to OSX 15.2
Much more interested in figuring out why I have so much pixelization in clouds with an HDR merge (I'm guessing movement?) but I'll start another thread.
Kind regards, Mark

The reason why there is no Capture One folder under Application Support may be that MacOS actually has two Libraries, each with an Application Support folder.
(1) There's one at Users>[your user name]>Library
(2) and another at Macintosh HD>Library
For me, on my MacBook Pro at least, the Capture One folder only appears in (1) and not in (2).
(On my iMac there is one in both places, but the one in location (2) dates from 2011, apparently, when I got my first iMac, not the current one! It doesn't contain anything much and I suspect I could delete it, but I won't on the grounds that if it ain't broke don't fix it. I wonder whether which place it appears in depends on whether at installation you opt for installing for all users of the computer or just the current user.)
