C1 Opening Spontaneously

I have just uploaded to my hard drive images from six memory cards.  Each time C1 opened spontaneously when I inserted my card reader, trying to make me import directly from the card reader.  With the first of those cards I had some difficulty in stopping it from repeatedly reopening and blocking my attempt to upload to my hard drive, but I did eventuially succeed with this.  I haven't experienced this before, but as I had also just installed the latest C1 updates I assume that this is a feature of one of the updates.  But why?  At best it is annoying.  And I can't see the purpose because, presumably, as soon as I remove the car reader C1 won't be able to access the images anyway.  But regardless of that, is there any way I can stop it happening in the future?

    There is an option in C1 to not open automatically. With your card reader attached I think you open the Importer dialog and somewhere there is a checkbox to disable this behavior.
