No more updates.?

Hi, I’m on CaptureOne 16.4.6 and I see version 16.5.5 is out , why can’t I update please , I’m on Petertal license (lifetime) Please don’t tell me I won’t have anymore updates as I didn’t purchase that long ago . Thanks

  A perpetual license for version 16.4.x doesn't include updates beyond 16.4.x.

  Your perpetual license grants you updates to 16.4; nothing later. What "perpetual" means is that you can run 16.4.x "in perpetuity", which means until your computer OS won't let it run, or you buy a new camera that isn't supported by your version and you need to upgrade for camera (or OS) support. Through v15, any 15.x update was included until v16 shipped. Capture One changed that a couple of years ago and have been releasing two "major" updates each year. Capture One is really encouraging everyone to switch to subscriptions...
