Masks for local adjustments
I am missing something I guess. When i brush an area to create the mask i finish up with overlying brush strokes. Where they overlap it increases the local adjustment . I have to paint in "one stroke" to avoid this. Surely there is a way to pause, change brush size etc and add to the mask area without additve effects on the adjustment?

I believe that this depends on the opacity you set for the brush. If it is set to 100%, then a second brush stroke doesn't intensify the effect. But if you set the brush to say 25%, then brushing over the same place with a new stroke does intensify it, which at times can be useful. Set the brush opacity by right clicking when the brush is active. From the same dialog box that appears you can also set the brush size and hardness.

Thanks Ian, this was indeed the case, changing opacity to 100% solves this for me
