picture import
I upgraded to capture one 11 and when I now import my images they are all mixed up.
The import window shows me the right order, but after the import they are in disorder. Completely mixed.

Change the sorting order in the browser. 0 -
There does seem to be a bug in the new version that imports them in a random order. You can of course sort them into, say, date order afterwards, but if you have a system of naming on import you may have to do a batch rename as a workaround until they fix it.

It is important that the first picture I shot is number 1 the second I shot is number 2 and so on.
Now the 20th picture is number 1, the 2nd picture is number 5 ..... a complete disorder (the import window shows it in the
right order)
I have 500 pictures shot with 2 cameras at the same time. When I sort them by date now, they are again
disordered.
Will they fix it soon?0 -

This being a User to User forum we are not to know.
Your best option is to create a Support Case and by doing so help Phase to understand the degree of importance this has for you and, by adding another instance of the problem to their database, the number of people who find this especially troublesome.

If the import window shows them in the right date order, it appears that C1 can correctly get the dates from the files. I would
(1) sort the files into date order
(2) rename them in some suitable way that won’t overlap with existing names. That may mean renaming twice - I have sometimes renamed them things like 2017-12-18-1001, 2017-12-18-1002, etc to avoid having the new names the same as any old names, then renamed again to 2017-12-18-0001, etc. It is quite quick.

So you are not setting a manual order just using what the camera produced - which one would assume will also be Name order (from the camera name or from a rename on import PROVIDED it only added a fixed prefix) or the date and time order from the camera.
In theory one would expect the two to be the same order.
Totally random seems rather odd.
If you look at the Browser in LIST MODE does that suggest any alternative sort order has been used?
Just a thought.

I am having the same problem. No issues until update to C1 11. Import window shows the correct sequentially named files but when imported files are named randomly, regardless of pull down menu chosen. 0 -
So it seems to be a common problem. It’s worth all of us who are suffering from it submitting support cases so that Phase One can gauge the extent of the problem.

Ian, Good idea. I have submitted a support case. I'll keep everyone updated when they respond.0 -
Here's the response. I guess we'll have to live with it until the update!
