What do you mean by Register?

You can activate V12 with you V20 license key.

Usually a new version will find existing user settings from earlier versions. There are just a few exceptions. Maybe 2 or 3.

First of all, thanks for your answer. With register I mean the groups of setting like exposure, HDR and noise, which are in one register, while tethered shooting is an own register. Since I am german, it might be that they are named differently, "TAB" perhaps. I created my own tab with tools which were distributed over some tabs. I can't import/esport these settings to the CO1 20.

    Better explained?

Ah! OK, Tool tabs maintained in the Workspace area.

When you maade your changes to the tabs did you save them back to the system using you own naming for them?

C1 provides some examples of workspaces that are always installed as part of the system. Sometimes, as in thee case of V20, there are some significant changes to them so they may look quite different to previous workspaces.

If you change a C1 provided work space and save it with its original name it will eventually be overwritten with the next update. Any update, not just a new version.

However if you save your altered Workspace with your own name different to the C1 provded names it will be saved separately and C1 will not replace it when updating.

Most of the time the old Workspaces can just be used as they are with updates. Some time one or two changes - new tools added for example - may mean you would want to change your personal workspaces to include the changes.

If you have created your ow personal Workspaces, in Windows they can be found here:

    C:\Users\[USER NAME}\AppData\Local\CaptureOne\Workspaces

    or for V20
    C:\Users\[USER NAME}\AppData\Local\CaptureOne\Workspaces130

For V20 (Workspaces130) there has been a big change in the way the screens work (scrolling areas for the tools for example) so a new folder has been introduced. The V12 Workspaces that you may have saved will have been copied to the Workspaces130 folder and will be maintained there when changes are made.

The Capture One delivered Workspaces are saved in a different place.

If you have not made too many changes it should be quite simple to make the changes again. In fact with the new way the tool tabs have fixed and scrolling areas you may want to make changes anyway.

If you made big changes it may be possible to open V12 again, open the workspaces, save them with your own names for them, (which should then write those versions to the V12 Workspaces folder mentioned above) and then copy them into Workspaces130 for V20 to discover them. If you think doing that is worth the time compared with just recreating them then that is what I would suggest that you try.

I hope I understood better this time! "Register" made me think of the Windows Register and I could not think how that could be what you were referring to.

    HTH.

    Hi Grant,
that worked! I totally forgot to load the workspace after updating to CO1 20. So I can confirm, that the workspace was copied on explorer level (without any cintribution from me), as you were describing in the APPDATA part.

    Thanks for the support

    Excellent!

Remember that you you can change your existing Workspace Tools from the V12 "Pinned" section to the V20 "Scrolling" section if you choose to.

Once you have created a scrolling section in what was once a V12 tab (Move one tool to the scrolling section using the option in the "..." icon window) you can drag and drop the tools between the sections.

    HTH.
