Write to card while tethered. canon 7D
Does anyone know if there is a way to write to a card while shooting tethered with the Canon 7D or Canon 5D MkIII ?
I know the 7D can do it with the Eos Utility software but its a software function not the camera. Im not sure about the 5D at all as yet (not in my hands)
I don't see any preferences in Capture One 9 to effect this.
C1Pro 9.2
Mac OSX 10.10.5 (Yosemite)

My understanding is that by design C1 does not do this. There have been a lot of threads about this, if you search, and I seem to remember that the rationale is that this would slow things down.

Ian is correct - While shooting tethered via Capture One you cannot write to card simultaneously.
There's a lot of technical reasons for this - partly because Canon doesn't include this as a capability in their SDK, and partly because writing to card and pushing the image over a tether cable actually slows down transfer speeds and means the camera's buffer doesn't clear as quickly either.
Typically in the field we deal with this by simply having a digital tech running the computer and running backups to an external drive at regular intervals so you've always got duplication happening.
If writing to card is absolutely essential, you CAN disable C1 tethering, use EOS Utility to tether and then ingest in to Capture One via Hot Folders - But I don't recommend it. You lose quite a bit of functionality this way and it mostly will just slow your workflow down.0
