    Hi Martin,

While technically it would "Work" it won't be the best option and definitely isn't recommended by Phase.

While RAM is important, shooting tethered is mainly about processor power (rendering image previews is primarily CPU related) so a Mac Mini is going to be honestly... one of the worst possible options.

If you're only shooting very slow paced tabletop work, then it might work for you but I don't think you'll be impressed and you'll probably get frustrated at the speed of the thing. I'd definitely advise stepping up to an iMac at the very least.

Regardless, make sure you're working with a mostly empty solid state drive, and with the P45+ (if you don't already own one) you're going to need to get a FireWire 800 powered hub because none of the new Apple hardware puts out enough voltage via the Thunderbolt ports to maintain a good connection to the P45+ back to keep it tethered in a stable way. (I recommend the Uninbrain branded FW800 hub, but your Phase One dealer can point you in the right direction and may have something in stock already).

    Good luck!
