How to filter multiple filenames at once
Hi,
Is there any reliable way to filter a long list of file names in textform?
My current workflow:
Taking photos for the client > client chooses image in online galery > I download a list of file names as text. This mostly looks something like this:
011, 014, 021, 041, 050, 139, 196, 227, 234, 242, 252, 253, 255, 299, 324, 333, 335, 341, 363, 418, 445, 449, 451, 454, 457
The full filename would be 011.cr2 and so forth 24 files in sum.
Question:
Is there any reliable way to input the whole text string and capture one filters all the files with the filenames separated by ',' in the current album?
E.g. when copying the whole string from above into the filter search field:
The following 9 instead of 24 images get filtered:
011, 041, 042, 043, 044, 047, 049, 050, 457
When I try it without ',' like:
011 014 021 041 050 139 196 227 234 242 252 253 255 299 324 333 335 341 363 418 445 449 451 454 457
all images get filtered.
When I try the full name without ',' like:
011.cr2 014.cr2 021.cr2 041.cr2 050.cr2 139.cr2 196.cr2 227.cr2 234.cr2 242.cr2 252.cr2 253.cr2 255.cr2 299.cr2 324.cr2 333.cr2 335.cr2 341.cr2 363.cr2 418.cr2 445.cr2 449.cr2 451.cr2 454.cr2 457.cr2
32 images instead of 24 get selected.
What I'm missing here? Filter setting is standard 'any' 'contains'. I guess there must be a lot of other photographers having the same workflow and don't want to select each file by hand.
The way it would be awesome if it would work somehow:

The tedious way entering each file name individually like it works for right now:

Anyone knows which seperator I need to use to filter like in the first image?
thank you so much,
all the best,
Jakob (using Mac)

This post is three years old and it just saved my ass! Now that option is under the "Select" menu of course. thought this was a huge miss on Capture One's part cause this is available in Lightroom right from the text search bar. 🙌🼠0
