Splitting One Catalog Into Two?

I just started using Capture One. I created one catalog and placed all my pics in it. Now I'm noticing the performance is a little slower than I'd like. Plus, I don't really need all my pics in one catalog.

What I'd like to do is take half my pics and put them in a second catalog. What's the best way to do this without losing any of my edits?
