Can you elaborate on how you determine to what drive a session folder or image the program is using or referring to? It helps me betterunderstand your issue.

    HI

In the library tab: Hovering over 'Session Folders / Capture folder' in the left hand pane results in a tooltip which indicates that the 'capture' folder is points at my new (external) drive. This is where the session has been copied to, and as it is correctly pointing to the new location, seems to suggest that this part of session filenaming is RELATIVE

If in the library tab I then select a session album (e.g. all images), and then right click on an image therein, I can select "show in library", or "show in explorer". Both of these options then indicate that the image that is being pointed at is in the original location. This, being the original location of the file, seems to suggest that this part of the session filenaming is ABSOLUTE (ie it is not pointing to the files in the new location) - despite the entire session (including all images in the sub-capture folders) having been moved to the new external drive.

I hope this extra detail is of help.

    Thanks

    Darren

    Hi Darren,

Thanks for your explanation, makes more sense now.

I have tried to reproduce the behavior on both Windows and Mac, but did not succeed. All links are relative to the session. The only explanation I can give is that the image in the Album is in a folder that is not relative to the session. You can check this from Library tool. In its action menu select Show Info. Next, select the folder that the image is in and read the info.

It sounds like a corrupt session file: is it possible Capture One was not properly closed when you moved it?

In any case, it should be fairly simple to fix. If you are unfamiliar with this workflow, back up before trying it.

    Quit Capture One
Find the .cosession file in finder and delete it.
Now, launch Capture One again holding Alt/opt key to launch into the create new window.
Make a new session again in the same place with EXACTLY the same name as the old one.
Folders will be ignored as they exist already - a new session database will be made though.

Now you just need to rebuild favourites and albums (as these were part of the .cosession file)
Settings and previews are not lost or affected by this and will be reloaded when you view the relevant folders.
