Can I delete old Backup Folders?

I have Cap 9 on Windows.

In the catalogue backup folder at Capture One Catalogue Backup/Capture One/, I have the last backup folder and also 30+ older folders totalling 4+ gig

Can I safely delete the older backup folders?

    I use a Mac with catalogs. The backups are complete in themselves. They are not incremental. Discarding a backup just means you will not be able to go back to the state the catalog was in when the backup was created. After a while they take up quite a bit of space As you add and adjust images, the backups, although functional, may be so out of date as to have little use. I keep a backup for each month for a year, each week for a month and each day for a week (if I make changes in that time period). I delete all else and have had no problems.
