Nikon liveview
Hi everybody!
I've recently tried to tether from a D7100 just to find out that the camera will go in PC mode blacking out both the eye viewfinder and the back LCD. The Live View on Capture One won't show the actual exposure changes of the camera - just the focus adjustments and the real time lens feed. I read this is common to most of Nikon cameras. I was wondering if anybody can give me some feedback on the D750 and D500 (or other Nikon's) - are these able to keep the back LCD on during Live View tethering so to have a visual reference of exposure changes in real time directly from the camera and Live View?
Thanks for any help and comments!

The D800 behaves the same way. In fact I do not think the camera LCD liveview is accessible at all when tethered, only through capture one.
The mirror is up which is why you can not see through the viewfinder.
Is it a problem to just take a picture to evaluate your exposure?0 -
Thanks for your reply. It seems like indeed this is the way it is with DSLR's, I guess I will adjust. I shot macros/tabletop for a week with a Sony a7II and got used to the camera's LCD to check all my exposure adjustments and focusing. I find that having an immediate visual reference on camera makes for a better and faster workflow. I did a lot of multiple shots - on same item - for subsequent stacking and also enjoyed the ability to quickly navigate the image, magnifying different spots around the frame for accurate manual focus, without having to leave the camera. 0
