Batch changing IPTC fields

Think I figured it out - you have to use the "copy adjustments" arrow for metadata to apply to multiple images. The keywords apply just by having multiple images selected when I applied the keyword, so I assumed a description in the IPTC field would do the same. Hope this can help any other former Aperture users who are used to a different batch change workflow.

Still does not work on version 20. I have the same issue copying IPTC in all pictures in one go.

The most straightforward means I've discovered to do this is to create a preset from the first file that you enter your input, and then apply that preset to the files you want the settings applied to.  A bit clunky, but functional. And, oh yes, you need to have the inane and inconsistent "change all variants" box toggled on.

Using "Copy Adjustment" applies all settings that have been changed to the target files, unless you use the "Copy and Adjust" gizmo, which will bring up a box of what has been changed in the initial image with the option to turn things off before copying to the target files.

Not certain which method is more clunky. Capture One would be well suited to investigate the way these things are done in LightRoom.  Jus' sayin'...

I’m getting big headaches with the meta data workflow in C1. I've tried presets, which rather messed up my meta data and the copy and paste "Adjustment clipboard" method. Horrible if you have a folder with more than one location. I don't really want to, but I have the feeling I have to wait for C1 2X and do these IPTC location annotations in LR or Aperture. Does anybody got a better workflow? I don't want to buy Photo Mechanic…
