You need to proceed as if you are placing an order for the software upgrade. Then insert the upgrade code you received when you made the preorder into the coupon code box on the order form. The form will then pop up a message saying that you will not be charged and will give you a licence key (and email one to you).

    I've posted my experience here:

For what it's worth, several hours of frustration led me, finally, to figure out - as reported earlier in this thread - that to use the free upgrade coupon from ver 12 to ver 20, I had to purchase an upgrade, not a full version, then employ the coupon code in the purchase box. I think there was next to no helpful information from CaptureOne as to how to use that code. A CaptureOne customer service rep told me in an email that she hopes they simplify the upgrade process next time.

Phase One should really review this process with a niave user trying to do the task. It is needlessly frustrating and would be easily remedied with a clearer howto - that uses consistent terms and does not skip un-obvious steps.

Well having tried this route for the first time and with, iirc, a new sales managing partner in their first main release, I would guess they have learned a lot and will probably take a different route next time.

Maybe skip the pre-purchase offer that seems to be so confusing?

Of course no matter what they do there will always be a number of people who will have problems of one sort or another.
