Best import workflow when using a NAS?

I've not done proper speed tests but in general Capture One does impose a bit of overhead. I ingest from card/camera via PhotoMechanic (so I can rename, and add some EXIF data) copying to the NAS. Then I import into Capture One, telling it to leave the images in place. It seems faster to me than having Capture One do the import and renaming but I wouldn't swear to it.

    Thanks for the reply!

I think I will follow a similar approach and try to move the images over to the NAS before importing them.

I've imported the RAW files from SD Card to NAS via the MacBook, imported afterwards into C1 without moving the Files. So there is no more renaming of files anymore. That's why I changed now to import via C1 directly, this gives me the possibility to rename the files what fits to my workflow.
If you don't care about the RAW file names, it doesn't matter how you import.
The only downside if you import "manually" to the NAS, you need two steps.
