Implementing multi-catalog searches
From time to time I hear about COP users splitting up their catalogs in order to obtain better search performance. Some are asking if it is possible with COP to search multiple catalogs at the same time, say their 2018 and 2019 catalogs, here assuming they have adopted a pr-year split-up.
COP does already employ multi-catalog access, namely for shared keyword libraries, in the form of a socalled attached database. Possibly, however, it may depend on if the COP database structure lends itself to this mechanism of attached database. The shared keyword library comprise but a subset of the catalog tables.
Not knowing much myself about the COP database internals, or how attached databases work, I was hoping that fellow members might contribute toward evaluating the feasabilty of this idea.
Who knows, we might end up with a feature request to P1.

No, there is no multi catalogue search in C1. That is why I am *not* spiting my catalogue and living with the performance issues - mitigating them where possible.
I would personally prefer to make Support requests for features and to report bugs for searching in a single catalogue. In my opinion that's what needs work in C1.0
