Thumbnails VERY low resolution
Hi, Newbie here, coming form years of Lightroom.
I' noticing on my system that the image thumbnails in the browser are VERY low resolution. It's really more of an approximation of the image - they look terrible! Pretty disappointing in comparison with the nice, clear thumbnails in Lightroom. :/
Is there a quality setting for the thumbnails? I pretty sure version 10 wasn't like this, but maybe I'm remembering wrong.
I'm on Mac OS El Capitan if that matters... video is GTX 970
thanks

Ok, I solved this on my own. I needed to set the preview size in preferences, and regenerate previews.
thanks for the help0 -
The previews and thumbnails are two different things. Thumbnails are the small versions of your images that you see in a grid view or in the filmstrip down the side or along the bottom of the window. You don't have any control over the resolution of those and they are deliberately quite low-resolution for reasons of space and speed. The preview is the image you see when you look at one image at a time. The resolution you need depends on the resolution of your monitor. Mine are set to 2560 px as I am using a 2560x1600 MacBook. Capture One uses the preview to show you what it is doing most of the time, so if for example you adjust contrast, it works from the preview to show you what it will look like. It only refers to the actual raw file during editing when it has to - for example if you zoom in to 100%.
You can of course view more than one preview at a time (up to 12) and what you see then are small versions of the preview, rather than the thumbnails. Some people starting on C1 get confused by that.
The thumbnail is good for identifying images, but not really good for assessing them, for example to see whether the focus is sharp. As you may have discovered, zooming them too much does not improve things.
