Spydercheckr 24
In a magazin I did read about the Spydercheckr 24. This sounds good but the software of the Spydercheckr must fit to the image processing software (as I understood). Our Capture One is not in the list of software which works with the datacolor software. Has anybody tried to use the spydercheckr and how does it work?

You are correct - SpyderCheckr uses a similar DNG color profile format that ColorChecker Passport does, not ICC Profiles - the software is definitely not compatible with Capture One. 0 -
The idea of the SpyderCheckr sounds very interesting and I think it would be useful if this would work with Capture One. 0 -
I also asked this a long time ago.
This would be a real plus to many photographers, especially thos that HAVE to produce color consistent results (e.g. packshots).
I do not expect CO to understand DNG's... But some own PhaseOne integration or tool to be able to produce a profile based on the most common cards would be really mint.
I have the SpyderCheckr, the way it works with Adobe CameraRaw is it actually creates a custom color correction setting similar to the "Basic Color Editor" in CaptureOne. Most likely taking into account the builtin color profile it is based on.
You surely must be able to do something similar... On a reference image of the card run some option to create the correct color editor settings based on the selected color profile, then allowing us to copy paste these onto other pictures... Having this built-in CO would be revolutionary, much more than the new film grain tool. We could add grain with any external tool after our CO flow, but on the other hand it is impossible to use these checkr cards at all without an Adobe product.
Common PhaseOne, think this through.0 -
Having a ColorChecker Passport some sort of integration would indeed be perfect. Meanwhile I tried http://robertharringtonstudios.wordpres ... pture-one/ I know it's not 100% perfect but close enough for the stuff I do at the moment. I also tried to make use of the DNG profiles and converted them to ICC profiles. But the results where not satisfying and consistent enough. So for the moment I follow above blog.

as it was properly noted software from SpyderCheckr manufacturer does not create any genuine dcp profile (DNG profile if you prefer that name) - it creates preset (as set of adjustments that you otherwise can simply do manually in converter's UI) for Adobe converter... that's a different thing...0 -
I'm trying this software that http://www.jpereira.net/roughprofiler free.
I use it for photography to paintings and I must say that used in a certain way with the result C1 becomes quite realistic.
I only found out last night that the ICC profile generated by RoughProfile not a LAB and then you can then use editor colors C1!
I am doing further investigation.0
