Is it new that after updating I have to activate it anew? Curious.

I wouldn't expect to have to do that, and I didn't have to. What did you do to update?

As always (since version CO 3) I uninstall with CCleaner the old version and after that install the update. 0 -

Next time, do not use CCleaner. It apparently deleted the activation file. Just install the update on top of the older version.0 -
Oké, but why now? Everytime I used CCleaner first to uninstall the old version. Everytime since version CO 3 (!) and yet it deleted the activationcode? Why now? CCleaner hasn't changed but CO.
Paul, thank you for the answer. I will follow your advice.
Kind regards, Willy0 -

I would not be so sure about that. Other than that, it is an unnecessary step because you keep using the program and installing a new version on top of it is an accepted practice. It would be a different story if you would finish using Capture One altogether.0 -
I see no need to remove a previous version.
I have multiple versions installed (in separate folders). No problems I am aware of.
Which flavour of C1 are you running?
An "Express"version, a "Pro" version or the "DB" version?0 -
Hi, Grant,
A Capture One PRO version on Windows Pro 10.

In that case as others have already said, no I would not expect to have to re-activate - but I always either install over the top of the earlier release of the existing version OR, if there have been some significant enhancements install alongside for a while for testing.
DB and Express versions used not to require keys for activation. They do now and I wondered if that had changed something but since you don't have them we don't need to consider any possible effects.
