A quick way of selecting chosen images?
Forgive me, if this has already been asked...
Is there a way of automatically selecting images in CP that a client has picked from the contact sheet?
Currently our process is:
- Send the contact sheet via dropbox to client.
- They remove any images from the contact sheet 'Previews' folder and leave in the images they wish us to keep/work on.
- We then manually go through the images they have kept (in the 'Previews' folder), copy the file name and select the images in CP with this info.
This is obviously time consuming.
Is there a quicker way?
Thanks,
Rory

can you have then mark images with stars and then sort by rating? 0 -
Select the chosen images in finder
CMD+C (copies names to paste board)
In Capture One, Edit>Select by... File name list
CMD+V (pastes name list)
Exclude extension and press ok.
Then you can right click on the selected>Create albums from> selection0 -
Hi,
The method mentioned above works very well with the subscription proofing and sales app shootproof that I use for this among other reasons. - https://www.shootproof.com
The interface is easy for anyone to navigate and mark their favourites whether they have imaging software or not.
Once they have made selections you see the images but also a comma delimited list at the bottom of the page. Cut and paste this into filename list as described above and your images are selected. Some shoots I have up to 200 selections from 2000+ images so you can imagine the time saved not just doing the manual selection but also looking for the error if the list has 109 images and you find you have only selected 108.
Other ad agency clients won't use shootproof because they have Bridge or Lightroom or something else they like, they can also output a list.
The reason I mention shootproof is that it works with novices who otherwise give you a list handwritten and out of numerical order in the worst cases. They don't need to own any software.
Hope that helps.1 -
