Returning TIFFf/JPG file to Capture One from Photoshop
Hello folks,
This has been driving me nuts for the last couple of days and so I'm reaching out for some assistance.
I'm guessing this is a result of a recent upgrade to Photoshop as it's now affecting my iMac (still on latest Mojave) and my new 16" Macbook Pro which I'm still setting up (Catalina 15.2). Until a couple of days ago, whenever I finished editing in Photoshop, I'd click save and the finished image would return straight into the Capture One catalogue, just below the original file. However when I now click Save in Photoshop, I'm faced with a dialogue box asking me where I want to save my file to (Creative Cloud or Hard Drive), and I just can't set the options properly so that it returns to Capture One as it did previously (I never even seen this dialogue box previously in Photoshop).
I'll be very grateful if someone can advise on what I should be setting the options to so that I can save the completed Tiff/JPG straight into Capture One as before.
Thank you in advance.
Best wishes,
David

There is a Capture One part and a Photoshop part in this story.
I assume the Capture One part is the 'Edit with' command, which saves the image the same folder as the original file. Maybe you can check that by right-clicking on it and choose Show in Library or Show in Finder. Note that before you do anything in Photoshop, it is already in Capture One because of the 'Edit with' command. Could you confirm that?
Next, regarding the dialog in Photoshop, maybe someone else can answer that. Have you asked this in any Photoshop forum already?0 -
Hello Paul,
Many thanks for your reply, it's much appreciated. I can confirm that the image is in Capture One and that I am using the 'Edit With' command.
Now that I've had a bit more time to investigate, I notice that when I'm in Photoshop and click on File - 'Save' command, it's actually the 'Save As' dialogue box that appears (and asks where you want to save the file to) - I obviously shouldn't be seeing this dialogue box when I hit 'Save'. And when I hit File- 'Save As', the same box appears (as it should). Strangely, after a system re-start I no longer have this issue on my iMac, it only appears on my MacBook Pro!
I've had a look in Photoshop preferences on both the iMac and Macbook and they appear to be set up the same. Hopefully someone can supply a solution - I'll do as you suggest and now visit a Photoshop forum as well.
Thank you again for trying to assist - have a wonderful Christmas when it comes.
Best wishes,
David
Edited to add: Further investigation - when I take the file from Capture One into Photoshop (right click, Edit with) the file first of all opens the Camera Raw editing window in Photoshop, and I have to click 'Open Image' to get it into Photoshop proper. I'm wondering if this is something to do with the issue? I guess I'm now trying to take it straight into Photoshop proper and avoid the Camera Raw editing window?0 -

Yes, this is the issue. It is in the Camera Raw preferences of Bridge, if I recall correctly. It explains the Save As response from Photoshop.0 -
Thanks again Paul - managed to fix the issue last night after a bit of research on Google. I unchecked one of the options in the Camera Raw preferences dialogue box, and things are now back to what they should be.
Best wishes,
