Temporary move, how to migrate to a new NAS
Looking for help or tips for the following situation:
Current setup
iMac with all catalogues and sessions stored on the hard drive
NAS with all image files
Both are backed up to a USB drive and a second NAS
New setup
I'm moving house, temporarily, and want to bring the USB drive with me, leaving both the NAS drives where they are (there is another user who's not moving). In the new location I intend to buy a new iMac and a new NAS.
The question is, how do I most efficiently move the image files from the USB drive to the new NAS, and the C1 catalogues and sessions to the new iMac?
I could just copy all the files, but then I'm sure I will have to go into each C1 catalogue and session and 'locate' the various folders and files. That's possible, but it takes quite a lot of work to do that!
Any better suggestions would be highly appreciated!

If you copy the entire folder tree with all the images onto your USB key, that is, including the top level folder that holds all the folders that hold images, and copy that folder tree onto a new NAS or a new drive, then you should be able to use the locate function in the Folder section of the Library tool and locate the top level filder, all the folders below should be added automatically. 0 -
I’ll try that! 0
