I think, that is not true. Look at this tutorial / webinar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNawSHMp0UQ from Phase One.

DUDE, thank you SO much! That was super helpful! Now all I need to do is get this so that new sessions all have the capture, select, and output folders at the root of the import and I will be happy.

New sessions, by default, DO always have their own Capture, Select and Output folders created. Also a trash folder.

You can set up something different - maybe additional folders for example, and save the new definition as a Template then us the Template when creating a new Session. You might, for example, want a different set of embedded folders for different types of shoot.

Also the concept of the Capture, Selects, Output and Trash folders can be re-directed away from their "physical" folders to other locations using the "Set as..." menu options. I don't think that you need that sort of functionality from what you have described but I am mentioning it here for completeness.

There is a video that compares the options for the Catalog and Session options. It is likely worth watching if you have not already done so.

    HTH.

What I have been doing is creating the new session and then using Set As... to direct the capture, select, and output folders to the main folder as imported by Lightroom. Then I delete those created folders every time. Pain in the butt and it would be nice if I could skip that option for how I work.

So are you saying that you import everything into LR, including new images?

If so does that mean you simply want to work with C1 in the folders where LR has deposited your images?
