Stacking when editing externally?
Hiya! I'm new to Capture One and absolutely love it's speed and output but I've run into a problem I've yet to solve.
Coming from LR any image opened from Lightroom in Photoshop (Ctrl-E) automatically becomes a stacked image or variant.
When you output your final product you simply collapse all stacks and export ensuring the edited image is exported not edited and original raw as well. Since only the top level of the stack is exported if all are collapsed. If a raw wasn't taken into Photoshop it exports as well since it is top of the stack.
When I open any image in CO it doesn't seem to do this.
I've checked the link below:
They talk about the Edit Variant button but I can't see this button in the recipe's section.
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated 😊

Capture One doesn't have this functionality. Or perhaps just a very small [part of it.
The only things that can be part of a stack in CO are different edits referring to the same image file. So RAW and TIFF and JPEG are forever separate.
If an image is to be editted externally, then CO generates TIFF files - which are forever separate from the original.
Incoming images from one of the PhaseOne cameras can be combined into a Sequence, and the Sequence can be collapsed. But this feature is exclusive to the PhaseOne cameras, it not clear if this will be extended to other camera types.
For those using Macs I have made a script that does kind of a poor mans equivalent to stacks, see here0 -
Thank you Eric! I thought I might be going nuts... I'll use albums and filtering to get around it 😊
Can't believe how snappy Capture one is compared to LR! Loving it!
