Acne Retouching with C1 12

Hi everyone,

I'm just new to Capture One as I switched to Fuji X System...So far so good..Is there an effective way to retouch the serious acne with C1 instead of jumping to PS?? I couldn't find a tutorial about retouching serious acne..I can remove small pimples and spots easily..But, if the model has serious acne, I just do not know how to get rid of it.

attaching a sample jpg image in this post and can some one post a tutorial to do the needful or point to a tutorial which already exists??

    Yes this can be done. Using layers you can create dodge & burn, healing, & cloning layers which would all aid in the removal of skin blemishes. The spot removal tool works for smaller blemishes as well and has a limit of 100 uses per image. In Capture One the heal and clone layers can only use one source per layer where Photoshop can use as many sources as needed and can combine many different techniques on a single layer.

    Even though this type of work can be done in Capture One, which is definitely welcomed for smaller tasks and if you don't have Photoshop, I find Photoshop to be more intuitive and efficient for heavier retouching tasks.

    Yes. I too find PS is easier to retouch heavy acne / blemishes. I will be mostly needing PS only for retouching with certain human subjects and removing poles and wires in some cases and rarely use image stacking. I'm happy with dodging and burning with what I'm able to do with C1.

    But, I'm just thinking for the 2% of work should I have to subscribe for adobe.

    Many people are using Affinity Photo as a pixel editor with C1. If you use PSDs, you can round trip tp AP just the same as you can round trip to PS. You just need to tell AP in preferences to overwrite PSDs. If you use Tiffs, AP will ask you to "save" rather than just auto overwriting the PSD.
