Any more details? What were you doing when it crashed? Is it always when you do the same thing (such as always when you crop)?

Also the latest version of Catalina is 10.15.2. Whether updating to that would help, I am not able to say, however.

It crashes whilst doing almost anything - adding clarity, changing a exposure setting, adding a preset, it really appears to be random. I have just upgraded my mac to 10.15.2 and it is still happening. Trying to export some files now and it crashes every time I try.

There may be some clues in the Log files.

You could try turning off Hardware Acceleration in the preferences to see if the problem relates to that. It's a quick and easy test.

This one stopps the crashes in my case: https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003121597-Reset-the-application-s-preference-file-on-macOS

For C1 20 you must use defaults delete com.phaseone.captureone13 because 13 is the internal identifier not 20.

I had crashes every time when exporting pictures in jpeg2000 format and I had to turn off the computer every time to restart C1 without the beach ball whirling araound. I’m sorry to say but Phase One should have done more testing instead releasing such a buggy piece of software.

Turning off hardware acceleration seems to have done the trick. Thanks for all the help!

totally agree the release version is still more of beta with all kind of problems. think they finally moved from the 10 year old OpenGL version in OS X to metal....

Just to mention that as a Windows user I really have no interest in "Metal" and I am quite content with the performance of OpenCL, in a seemingly stable form, in whatever version is used.

However if Phase decide to make use of "Metal" for Mac installations I would have no problem with that assuming that it came with a price premium compared to the Windows version which would clearly obtain no benefit form the development and already lacks any equivalent of "Applescript".

Just a small dose of perspective from the other side of the user base.
