Healing outside an image
I am a Capture One pro, version 9.3 user (mine is limited to Sony users only). I cropped outside an image and then tried to heal the out of image area with a healing brush, trying to fill the empty space with neighbor sky content. Unfortunately, it seems that this area is ignored by the healing brush.
Does anyone here can please advise me what to do?
Thank you,
Lior

Capture One is based on a RAW converter core application not a Graphics Editor so it will not create new areas of an image like Photoshop or Affinity will permit.
The "Crop outside image" allows you to create a file that can be exported for manipulation in a Graphics Editor - Photoshop and Affinity being two of the more popular software options at the moment but as you likely know there are others.
So if you need to fill in to make the crop work for you, export the file in the format you prefer for the task (jpg or TIFF are the most commonly used) and do the filling and healing in the other application where the dedicated functionality already exists.

Thank you very much Grant! 0 -
I should probably add that once you have exported your jpg or tiff file you could of course open it in Capture One and edit it with an adjustment layer and fill in the empty parts of the image. Your new image will appear with the missing areas available and awaiting replacement.
This may work perfectly well in many cases but I think that anything large or complex and especially with difficult so selects source areas may benefit from being addressed with applications having more features and facilities. I think that is probably the expectation of the functionality provided at this time.
