Things I'd miss from LR

From Aperture and LR I really really miss the user-friendliness of a browser. Just double-click to go back to the library thumbnails. C1 is kinda weird and seems to be built with dual screens in mind, requiring an f10 to separate the browser. And many other things that requires too many clicks and keys (like the styles and presets, whew) - I had to map some shortcuts to my extra mouse buttons.

I've been using Capture One Pro 8 now for nearly a month, after being a Lightroom users for years and by not going back to Lightroom, it's become easy and fluid to use. I had trouble getting my head around some features, such as layers, but one quick, 3 min, video lesson made it so easy. I've never been able to get my head around layers in Photoshop.

I've thought about it, but I can't really find one thing that I miss about Lightroom. I use plug-ins that work in Lightroom, but even then, I would typically use these in Photoshop anyway, so nothing really lost. And I always use Capture One on one screen, even though I have a dual setup.

The other thing that I also like about Capture One is that adjustments are retained in the same folder as the original files. I've had to move some files around and being able to copy the adjustments folder to the new one, makes things really easy, compared to Lightroom.

@spacecat - Yes, one of the first things I did to reduce the number of keystrokes was to bind 'G' to the 'Show viewer' toggle. In LR, it switches to the 'grid' view, which is roughly the same thing, and to have a single key there in the middle of the keyboard to toggle between a single image and a list of images was an instant benefit!

The next thing was to set the left and right arrows so I could move around without having to press Cmd!

    Much happier now...

Hi, thinks that you've outlined as missed is DAM features, and export feature of LR via plugins is much more powerful right now. Why not combine best from two worlds and use LR as DAM and C1 as Raw processor there is bunch of lessons on Phase one website how to accomplish that. And it will make you life much easy, as I recall you do have already huge library in LR
