80mm LS lens versions
A quick question; I have finally returned to Phase One after a year without, this time with a Phase One 645DF+ body as well. It's been an investment, so now I am in the marked to add a budget 80mm lens.
I want AF and LS. I see in a lens test from Capture Integration that they list the 80mm lensens for Phase One;
- Mamiya AF 80mm f/2.8
- Phase One D 80mm f/2.8
- Schneider LS 80mm f/2.8
Is there two versions of the Schneider LS 80mm? When I look on Ebay I find this one;

When I go to Phase One I find the same one, but with a blue ring?
Since I do mostly on location with flash work, I would love to have the LS version, and I can find them on Ebay for under 1000 USD. Is there any reason why I NOT should get one? And also, ARE there two versions?

Isn't there anyone who can help me here? 0 -
You probably need to ask the question in the Camera and Lenses forums rather than here.
Alternatively talk to Phase directly through a Support Case or to one of the partners/retailers for Phase hardware.

The LS version has a leaf shutter, hence LS. 0 -
Ok,
Yes, the Schneider LS 80mm f/2.8 have the leaf shutter, the other two do not have a LS. I believe the blue ring version has the newer shutter which I think goes to a max of 1/2000 verses the old one of 1/1600. (Check the Data sheets, you should be able to find them on PhaseOne's web site.)
On a leaf shutter lens the most important thing is to see if you can get the shutter count of the lenses.

Thank you people! So in other words the LS lenses comes in two different versions, but not much separating them? Good to know. I am not in a position financially right now to but top end, so if the old LS lenses will do alright, that is what I will go for right now, and rather upgrade down the road 😊 0
