Resolved - thanks for Nicki at Kayell Australia.
Cheaper Elinchrom flash heads do not have some kind of regulator in the tubes / electronics hence the colour variation. Solution is to buy better heads.
    Thanks

I know this issue very well - and it also happened with flash heads from Elinchrom (and Multiblitz), even though they were not the cheapest in the lineup (Style RX).
That caused me to switch to Profoto monoheads and now it's fairly consistent.

To combat this you can use the "Normalize" tool and pick the label as a basis for your white balance.

    Hi C M B
Thanks for the advice. I'll play with the Normalize settings and see how I get on. If all fails I'll change flash and look at all makes except Elinchrom!

Any chance of getting a "report" function to deal with this kind of spam?
