I get exactly the same Ian, you are not alone. Hopefully a fix will be on the way soon!

I’ve reported it in a support case today.

Is this specific to the most recent release Ian?

I'm running the original release on WIn 7 and don't see the same results.

Take a recipe set to inches and crop show inches.

Change the recipe to cm. Shows in cm.

    Close C1 using "Close Window".

Re-open and the change has stuck for the recipe and therefore the Crop display.

Did I get the process as per your usage?

Not exactly. If I have a recipe set in inches, mm or pixels, then it's OK. So for instance I have a recipe "Print A4" which specifies dimensions of 297x210 mm. If that is my active recipe, then on closing and reopening, I see mm as the units in the crop. Similarly I have a recipe for 1600 px long edge for use for the web, and if that is the active recipe, then I see the crop units as px, even after closing and re-opening the app.

But I also have a recipe where the Scale is "Fixed 100%". Then you get a drop down box in the crop tool that can be set to pixels, inches, cm or mm. The pixels are what you might expect - from a 6000x4000 sensor, it shows 6000 x 4000 px, and as I crop it down keeping the aspect ratio, I get measurements like 4500x3000 or whatever. If I choose inches, the measurement depends on the Resolution setting, of course. At 300 px/in, my 6000x4000 crop shows up as 20x13.33 inches, as you would expect.

But here's the thing: with that recipe selected, if I select px in the drop down box in the crop tool, I will see px in the crop frame, and I can see how many pixels I have really got. But after I have closed Capture One and restarted it, it defaults to inches in the drop down menu in the crop tool again.

As I say this was a bug in v9 that got fixed, but now it seems to have come back.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure if it is only v20.0.2, or whether it was doing it on 20.1.1 as well.

Ok, I was close but have retested.

On my system, Win 7, V20 13.0.0 release the Recipe related measurement settings for crops are retained after closing and re-opening.

    HOWEVER,

the recipe I have set up is the last but one in a long list and is the only one ticked for use for output.

When reopening the system comes back to the same image in the same place BUT highlights the first Recipe in the available list - which also happens to be Fixed 100% scale. If this has a different measurement unit value associated with it the units of that recipe are used.

Change to the intended recipe and all is good.

I have no explanations here - only observations for what seems to happen on my system.

    😕
